Designed and printed by Nina at Lenthall Road Workshop in 1983.
The Lenthall Road Workshop was an all-women print workshop run on feminist principles of collaboration and shared responsibility, and actively challenged the sexist, racist, heterosexist and ablest stereotypes prevalent in society and the media. Nina designed and printed the poster “Rolling Sisters” at LRW in 1983, based on a photo by Jill Posener of Nina and Daniela von Raffay travelling around Hackney, London; Daniela came up with the powerful tagline of Rolling Sisters. Using silkscreen split fountain techniques, each print is unique.

The poster has been shown in exhibitions such as Women in Revolt! Art and Activism in the UK 1970-1990, at the Tate Britain in 2023-2024, and the Hackney Museum’s 2019 Women on Screens: Printmaking, photography and community activism at Lenthall Road Workshop 1970s-1990s.
